In its first entry into a National Mock Trial Competition, where law schools battled in 14 regions across the country, FIU CoL took first place and captured the Southeast Region in Atlanta. The winning team consisted of David Baroff and Victoria Kush as advocates, and Jamie Gurtov and Alexander Wiliams as the all-important wintesses. FIU defeated five teams, including perennial powerhouse Stetson in the final round. The other members of the championship Trial Team were Scott Strauss, Thomas Bellinder, V. Danielle Morris, and Loressa Felix. The 14 Regional Winners will now compete in the National Finals in West Palm Beach. The trial Team is coached by Professors H. T. Smith and H. Scott Fingerhut
